Standing with Persons with Disabilities on National and International Days
Throughout the year, DIA joins the Department of Social Services, the District Administration and partner organisations in Jhenaidah to observe national and international days that matter to persons with disabilities and marginalised communities.
White Cane Safety Day
On 15 October 2022, DIA took part in the rally and smart white cane distribution ceremony marking White Cane Safety Day, organised by the District Administration, the District Social Services Office and the Disability Service and Assistance Centre, Jhenaidah.
Wheelchairs for greater independence
DIA has taken part in wheelchair distribution programs that give persons with disabilities and older people the mobility to reach markets, offices and community events independently.
National Social Services Day and World Social Work Day
Our staff and volunteers also join rallies and discussion meetings on National Social Services Day and World Social Work Day, raising awareness about social protection services available to vulnerable people.
